What are HydroPor® Panels?
HydroPor® permeable plastic panels are the answer to an age old question; how can we use the seemingly ‘un-recyclable’ plastics created in the UK? Engineered to be non-clogging, slip reducing, robust, tolerant of UV and long lasting, they are the ultimate recycled product.
The production process, currently undergoing world-wide patent protection, utilises the plastics currently challenging the recycling industry, creating robust, stable and usable construction materials. HydroPor® panels offer significant benefits over similar inferior products currently available globally manufactured using Friction Plate Agglomeration technology.
FPA products have been tried extensively over the last 20 years both in the UK and USA but with little significant application or product development.
Many of these products are inherently weaker than HydroPor® as the composition is of shorter plastic, heat softened ‘noodles’ simply squeezed together to make a narrow plank, generally around 200mm wide. This type of product is easily identifiable as it often breaks and features non melted particles, added after the agglomeration process to rectify any loss in permeability during production.
Why HydroPor® Panels?
HydroPor permeable plastic panels however are composed of endless strands of fully processed recycled plastics, welded together to form a much stronger structure. As complete control is ensured with our unique manufacturing process, the permeability of Hydropor can be varied to suit the application.
The standard width is 400mm rather than the usual 200mm, which lends itself to cover large areas quickly, ensuring faster surface installation. Where needed we can split down to an agreed width primarily for use for ‘in ground’ applications.
HydroPor® is manufactured in the UK under license, our manufacturing partners Roydon Group PLC, located in Swinton UK, are certified under the following standards – ISO 9001 Quality Standard, ISO 14001 Environmental Standard and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety StandardUK PAT APP 1910604.6. International PAT APP PCT/GB2019/052078.

Environmental Impact
The environmental impact of plastic waste is widely understood with single use plastics being the biggest problem. Progress has been made in the recycling of single polymer waste streams, but little made with mixed plastic packaging as it is generally more difficult or often impossible to commercially separate.
The HydroPor® process tolerates these mixed plastics allowing for a greater range of historically unusable plastic waste streams to be processed and used.
It is our policy only to use recycled plastics in the production of HydroPor permeable products.
